Welcome to 2020!
Happy New Year :)
I hope you’re all staying well and safe during this summer of bushfires and drought.
At this time of year we can often be tempted to look at what’s lacking in our lives in the process of setting goals. This in itself isn’t necessarily unhealthy as long as we spend time practicing gratitude for our lives and our bodies just as they are right now. This is the moment and the body we are in and they are amazing so be sure to spend time celebrating you right now and not only looking forward. Rather than set new years resolutions I like to set an intention just as I do each time I practice yoga. When we move into a standing balance like tree pose we set our gaze on a single point to help us find focus and steadiness. In yoga this is known as Drishti. At the beginning of a new year I set my eyes in the direction I intend to head and then get to work enjoying the process of getting there (or trying to!). My intention for this year is VITALITY. My work will be to continually strive for greater vitality, greater presence and gratitude for the simple and awesome in every day.
If you would like to join me in setting an intention and practicing yoga this term please have a look for a class to suit. As always, if you can’t find something at a time that suits please get in touch. I can’t always accommodate but I can try!
What’s new in 2020?
Prenatal Yoga at Illawong - Saturday Mornings beginning 18th Jan
I’ve been running a Wednesday evening prenatal class in 2019 at 5:15pm which I know is a difficult time for lots of working mums-to-be. So this term I’m offering a Saturday morning class at 8:30 - 9:30am. Classes are small and tailored to individual needs. Please let me know if you’re interested :)
Toddler/Preschooler Yoga and Mums & Bubs Yoga at Padstow - Monday mornings beginning 10th Feb
I’m excited to still be teaming up with Young Wonders at Padstow to offer Mums & Toddler yoga and Mums and Bubs yoga on a Monday morning in Padstow. If you’re interested please have a look at the Young Wonders Website: youngwonders.com.au
Mums & Toddlers - 9:45 - 10:30 Suitable for kids 2-5 years old and a parent or carer to join in. Younger siblings are welcome too.

Yoga Energy Menai - it’s open!
I’m really excited that Yoga Energy has opened in Menai Marketplace with lots of amazing teachers who offer a variety of yoga classes and styles to Menai locals. I’m excited to be joining the teaching team, bringing kids yoga to the studio on a Monday and Wednesday afternoon!
Mondays - beginning 10th Feb
4:00 - 4:30 for kids in Kindy - Year 2
4:45 - 5:30 for kids in Years 3- 6
Wednesdays - beginning 5th Feb
4:00 - 5:00 for Tweens - Years 4 - 8

Kids & Family Yoga Classes at Peakhurst Heights
Friday afternoons will see Kids and Tweens yoga now running at Pure Yoga at Peakhurst. It was hard to leave the beautiful Connect the Dots studio at Oatley and I wish them so much good stuff in all the exciting things they have planned for this year! I’m really excited to be now running the Friday afternoon kids and tweens yoga and monthly Family yoga classes from Pure Yoga at Peakhurst Heights. Only five minutes down the road and much easier parking on a Friday night!
